I found this flower in the woods in Charlevoix County, in Michigan.
I know it is a type of Lady's Slipper, but the closest thing I can find is the yellow lady's slipper, but it has brown spirals. This flower had very pretty purple spirals.

It describes the lateral petals are sometimes being maroon.
I also read somewhere that there is some variation within the species of these plants. Some will be white to cream and that will be normal, the petal colors will also differ.
