Is anyone else tired of seeing lazy people get check after check from the government?

Have you ever been to the grocery store in the afternoon and seen a lady in her slippers and her bathrobe and her hair all greasy with a grocery cart full of food going up to the counter and paying for her stuff with food stamps? There ain't nothing physically wrong with her! Why can't she get up off her fat rump and GET A JOB!! I've seen too many people like this, and I want to know if anyone else thinks that people like this should be forced to get a job instead of living off our hard-earned tax dollars!! Is anyone with me on this? What can we do to bring a reform to the way welfare is distributed? Why does it seem like the greatest percentage of welfare recipients are using it to support their filthy habits?? Give me some feedback here!

This is so sad...really...and it angers me.


I have clients in my office, regularly, collecting SSI and Disability monthly, and they have nothing wrong with them. I work 5 days a week, take showers, brush my teeth, use deoderant, clean my home, raise my kids, live an honest and respectable life, you wont see me at the local honky tonk raising hell on the first of the month getting wasted on Budweiser and eating Zanax. Noone offers me any special treatment.


My CSR recently HAD to quit, she lost her medical coverage when she started working here, SHE WANTED TO WORK!!! Four weeks ago, at 36 years old, she had a heart attack, just ONE and 1/2 day in ICU was $16K, her ambulance ride, life flight, meds and current prescriptions....unreal money. She spoke to a social worker about getting help with her costs, she makes $8.50 and hour, OBVIOUSLY she cannot afford this care and continuing prescriptions on that income. She was told IF she returns to work, they cannot help her. SO she had to quit JUST to get her meds and hospitalization costs covered her other option would likely have been filing bankruptcy. She was elligable for Disability and SSI because she had a heart attack, has had 3 strokes, closed vision glaucoma and bursitis...SHE WANTED TO WORK HOWEVER THE SYSTEM DOES NOT WORK THAT WAY.


I get furious with my $180 weekly budget at the grocery to provide for my family of 4, I work full time and my husband does as well. WE struggle to get by.


When I get behind these welfare recipients with Twinkies, Coke, steaks, name brand cereal, smelling like cigarettes, old socks and sweat I want to scream!!!!!!!!


My opinion is that in the US we should LIMIT the time allowed for persons to be on public assistance, IF they claim Disability they need to prove it and prove it and prove it. If it is the case of a single mom, trying to get by with a special needs child, raise a child on her own, go to school whatever I do not have a problem with funding her entirely. BUT like you said these others, let them starve for a few weeks, get evicted, live in the filth of the streets, force them to be sterilized, whatever....this way the ones who truly need assistance can get it and there will be more to go around.

The best thing you can do is find out what your representatives stand for, and vote for the one that believes in letting hard-working people keep their money instead of using it to support slackers.





I work in a building that also houses the Social Security offices. I can't believe the stream of disgusting pigs that come through saying that they're disabled. They walk down the street just fine, but when they get to the building, they suddenly need crutches or a walker to move. I wish they'd install some hidden cameras around the area. At least 50% of these people would be busted on the spot.





Vote for conservatives and write them often to let them know what you expect them to do.
Reply:i was in line with a woman who took cuts in front of me to use her lone star welfare card to buy sodas, cigarettes and candy, they were going to a movie to sneak all that in, to pay for the cigarettes she took out a big wad of $20's all rolled up and paid





i wish there was a way to get the help to people who actually need it and get the people off welfare that dont need it, which is probably 85% of them
Reply:i know it is hard to look at, and there is no correct answer that will fix it. some people think that its much easier to let everyone else to take care of them and that's what they do. i would rather my tax dollars go to education of the ignorant ones and sterilization to the stupid ones, because they are the ones who are going to multiply and pass their stupidity and laziness to their offspring.





I feel bad for those who really do need it and actually use it to gain a better position in life. Honestly some really do use it and really do need it.





My friend who's' husband was in the military killed himself and left a child who is receiving income from the government, and I know they need it and use it properly.
Reply:I receive government checks because I have epilepsy. My condition can not be seen physically. I can not drive nor work. Try living the kind of life I do then you will understand how there are some people that honestly need help and appreciate it.

Reply:Amen. I am with you all the way on that one. Why cant we make them do something to earn the money. They could map floors at the police station or something. Maybe have to volinteer somwhere.

Reply:I completely agree. In order to collect, they should have to prove they are looking for work or at least getting job training. And there should be a limit on how long they can collect.
